Georgian 18k Gold Cased Hound Dog Fob "Take Heed" circa 1820

A beautiful and functional relic from a time when communication was written letters and documents. This antique Georgian object circa 1820 is a seal fob. Used to imprint sealing wax with a personal motto or image it would have been worn suspended from a watch chain.

This is a particularly lovely example with a hound dog, possibly a bloodhound, on the hunt and the motto "take heed" above. An important warning for the recipient not to ignore the correspondence! Crafted out of an approximately 18k gold casing (a thicker form of gold plating common in fobs of this era) and set with a clear stone with a red backing.
Makes a fantastic pendant or add to a larger charm bracelet or necklace!
