Victorian 15K Gold And Turquoise Leaf Brooch Circa 1840
This magnificent antique brooch dates from the mid-19th century - circa 1840 - at the start of the Victorian fascination with designs drawn from nature. Carefully rendered in 15k yellow and green (an alloy of gold with additional silver to give it its "greenish" hue) it depicts a leaves, vines and "berries" (gorgeous blue turquoise cabochons) as if it were just pulled from the garden.
In exceptional condition - the authentic antique goldwork a true masterpiece of English early Victorian design.
