Georgian Neoclassical Crystal Fob Seal Pendant
Clean, simple lines and elegant minimalist styling are not always what you think of with antique jewelry but is evident in this Georgian seal fob! Drawing on Neoclassical design, taking influence from ancient Greek and Roman artifacts, this style was very popular in the late 18th and early 19th century when this fob seal was made. Made of a non-precious gold colored metal and set with a beautifully cut, plain, rock crystal seal.
Seal fobs, sometimes singular sometimes in a cluster, were popular accessories that were used to both weigh down the end of pocket watch chains that were draped across a man's waistcoat and to seal wax for correspondence.
