Georgian Foiled Back Garnet and Gold Brooch
One of the most sought after styles of 18th Century jewelry foiled back garnets are the epitome of Georgian jewelry design. These cherry colored jewels explode with fire, especially in flickering candlelight. Dating from circa 1780-1820 this exceptional brooch features 10 oval and teardrop shaped foil-back garnets in a closed back approximate 12k gold setting. Most likely adapted from a larger piece it currently features a brooch back.

Condition: In good antique condition. Two small holes to the closed-back settings - visible in photo. Stones are in good condition for age - one with possible small glass filled repair.
