Victorian 1879 15K Gold and Pearl Mourning Ring
This striking antique ring is a beautiful example of English Victorian mourning jewelry. Crafted out of 15K yellow gold it is set with five pearls on a black enamel band.
Engraved to the reverse "In Memory of My Mother who died April 12 1879"
Pearls were traditionally used in mourning jewelry, representing tears and make a beautiful contrast to the black enamel. The ring is fully hallmarked for production in 1879. An elegant and touching piece of wearable jewelry history.

Condition: In good antique condition. Minor repair to the enamel at one spot at front of the ring, but clean to the eye. Wear commensurate with age including minor wear to pearl nacre on some stones.
