Georgian Rose Cut Diamond Signet Ring circa 1820

This wonderful antique ring has clearly had a long and interesting history. Originally crafted circa 1820-30 at the end of the Georgian period it features a beautiful central rose cut diamond. Mostly likely originally surrounded by enamel, possibly for a mourning ring setting it has lost gold-plating and had numerous revisions and repairs and has had a replacement band inserted to the interior. This ring must have had tremendous sentimental value to be preserved in such a way and makes a fascinating almost modern statement today. This ring is being sold strictly as-is.
