Edwardian 1909 Gold Buckle Ring

This beautifully simple antique Edwardian ring packs a powerful message. The buckle was a popular motif in Victorian and Edwardian jewelry, found not only in rings, but in bracelets, necklaces and done in gold work and enamel. The buckle was a powerful symbol, representing loyalty, strength and fidelity ,making it associated with marriage and eternity

This wonderful example is fully hallmarked for production in England in 1909, bringing over 100 years of history to this amazing ring. Crafted in 9k yellow gold.

Most likely originally a men's ring, it is a perfect alternative wedding band for any gender today.

Hallmarks: 9 .375 for 9K gold, town assay for Chester UK, date letter 'j' for 1909. Maker's mark T.S.O. - most likely for Thomas Samuel Osborn, Key Hill Drive, Hockley, Birmingham

Weight: 1.7 grams

Condition: In good antique condition. Band has been thinned to the reverse but hallmarks are still legible. Wear and minor scratches commensurate with age and use. While we do not resize rings we can advise if a ring is suitable for resizing.
