Edwardian 1909 18K Gold Ruby and Diamond Ring
A stunning antique classic ring with timeless design!
This authentic vintage ring is hallmarked for production in England in 1909, at the height of the Edwardian period. It features two beautiful pinkish- red rubies flanking a central old European cut approximately .10 carat diamond "gypsy set" in a wide 18k yellow gold band with delicate detailing typical of the turn of the century Edwardian style. "Gypsy" setting, in which the stone is placed flush with the ring band and only the crown is visible began in the 1880s and was originally a style for men's jewelry- the fashion caught on and this secure setting (compared to other settings of the time) became very popular among women as well.
