Georgian 1832 Gold Engraved Mourning Ring
This Georgian mourning ring, inscribed" O. Lucas, Ob. 11 June, 1832 Age 76 " is a gorgeous example of the form. Set in beautiful 18 carat gold, this ring it features a central crystal set compartment containing hair of the deceased. Surrounded by chased floral design in gold with then an additional black enamel band leading into spectacular split chased gold floral shoulders. An extraordinary relic from the early 19th century.

Dimensions: Central setting measures 14 mm in long and 10 mm wide and band is 4 mm wide at the narrowest. Band is not hallmarked but tests as at least 18 carat gold.
Weight: 5 grams
Condition report: Ring is in very good antique condition. No chips to enamel. Scratches to the crystal top that somewhat obscures hairwork below. Evidence of resizing on the band. Some scratches to crystal of locket top.
