Victorian C. 1860 Black French Jet Drop Earrings

These exceptional authentic antique Victorian earrings date from the mid-19th century circa 1860. Crafted out of faceted black mirrored glass known as "French Jet" - it is the black version of the popular "Vauxhall glass" from the same period, they shine and catch the light beautifully.  Originally used in mourning attire these attractive earrings are extremely striking and wearable today. A large starburst motif is suspended from a faceted circular top in the "top and drop" style of Victorian earrings. Set in a silver-colored metal.  

Dimensions: Earrings measure 1.5 inches long by .8 inches wide.
Weight: One earring - 3.8 grams

Condition: In excellent antique condition. No nicks or cracks. Some minor wear to reverse. Metal setting is unknown.
